Ed was born in Belleville, Illinois on June 1st, 1932 to Edwin A. and Albe M. (Lapka) Perschbacher. When he was 3 years old the family relocated to Colorado Springs, CO to help his mom recover from tuberculosis. He grew up enjoying the outdoors in the surrounding area and was a regular attendee at the Boys Club playing basketball and other activities.
He served in the Air Marines as an aircraft electrician during the Korean War and these skills were carried forward into his career as an electrician. He was a longtime member of IBEW Local 113 recently receiving recognition for 60 years of active membership. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hiking, hunting, fishing scuba diving and bicycling.
He is survived by his loving wife Ann with whom he shared countless adventures, including climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, exploring the Galapagos Islands, cycling in Europe and catching fish from the beautiful streams and lakes throughout the mountains of Colorado.
He is also survived by two sons, Eric and Eddie, four stepsons, John Renck, Russ Renck, Doyle Thompson and Duane Thompson, his brother Don, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
He will be remembered with a celebration of his life, Wednesday 9/30, 11:00 at Mountain Community Mennonite Church, 643 Colorado 105, Palmer Lake CO.
