Edward John Kujalowicz, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on March 15, 2016 at Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on April 17, 1929, the fifth child born to the late Konstanty and Josefa (Ziemba) Kujalowicz.
Edward attended Colorado College before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1951. During his college years he worked for the Broadmoor Hotel driving tour groups up Pikes Peak. While in the Air Force, Edward worked in aircraft maintenance. He served in England during the Korean War where he met his British bride, Wendy. Overseas assignments also included Germany and later Thailand during the Vietnam conflict. Stateside assignments included Washington D.C., San Antonio, Texas and finally Colorado Springs. During his distinguished Air Force career he attained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Edward retired after 27 years on January 31, 1978 as a Maintenance Management Superintendent.
Upon military retirement, Edward and Wendy settled in Colorado Springs where he opened and operated Signature Lawns, a lawn care company, for 15 years. He and Wendy were members of Divine Redeemer Catholic Church. They were active in “Little Parishes” where they made life long friends.
Edward loved taking road trips in the Colorado mountains to fish and enjoyed traveling with Wendy on cruises to places like the Panama Canal, Alaska, and the Caribbean. He was a great handyman that could fix anything without ever resorting to Google. Family was very important to Edward. He loved being with his grandchildren and especially loved teasing them and chasing them with “Charlie Skeeter”.
Edward is survived by his children: Catherine (Theodore) Parker of Peoria, Arizona; Paul (Cindy) Kujalowicz of Scottsdale, Arizona; Donna (Steven) Crane of Richardson, Texas; and Joann (Hussain) Ali; Judy (Scott) Moldenhauer; and Edward (Julia) Kujalowicz, Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his grandchildren: Katie (Joseph) Witt , Shaun (Megan) Parker, Jennifer (Jack) Carroll, Brandi (Richard) Kwesell, Megan (Ryan) Rigby, Taylor (Reed) Davis, Matthew Moldenhauer, Sara Moldenhauer, Yousef Ali, Hannan Ali, Yasmeen Ali, Nicholas Kujalowicz, Ryan Moldenhauer, Farah Ali, Kylee Kujalowicz, his great-grandchildren: Nathan Witt, Andrew Witt, Michael Witt, Abigail Carroll and William Parker, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 56 years, Wendy, his grandson, Jason Crane, and his great-grandson, David Carroll.
