Edith graduated from Kokomo High School in 1952. She worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Company. Edith held many offices within Omega Phi Tau sorority. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of the YWCA and volunteer for the Designer Show Home.
Edith was instrumental in many of the Class of ‘52’s reunions and remained close to her high school friends’ call the CC’s. She was a long-standing member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
Edith was an avid sports fan, with the Chicago Cubs, holding a special place in her heart. She loved the beach, especially Hilton Head Island and Bradenton, and bird watching.
Edith is survived by her loving husband, John of 60 years, her daughters: Lisa Ritter (Mike Shorkey) of Kokomo, and Susan Wichmann (Steve) of Monument, CO. Also survived by grandchildren Andrew (Allison) Wichmann of Odenton, MD, Megan Wichmann of Monument, CO, Brad Wichmann of Boulder, CO, brother-in-law James Ritter (Sylvia) of Bloomfield, CT, brother-in-law John Nimmo of Wellesley, MA. Edith is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Edith is pre-deceased by her parents and sisters, Marilyn Miller, Marge Lytle, and Peg Duggins and her sister-in-law Betty Nimmo.
