He returned to heaven August 3, 2023
Dwight was preceded in death by his precious wife of 61 years Estella Gay in 2015.
He is survived by his children: Kurt Wever (Molly) of Woodland Park, CO and Debi Cantrell (Jim) of Camarillo CA, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Dwight was born in Chicago to Melvin and Lucille but grew up in and near Indianapolis Indiana.
He graduated from Purdue University. Soon he and his bride moved to Southern California where their children were born. The bulk of his career was with TRW systems. His work began as an engineer but was quickly recognized as a leader and problem solver. His contributions included crucial work in the defense industry. He was ever grateful that his work in producing a credible nuclear deterrence was successful. His work also included clean coal, laser missile defense, and passenger side air bags.

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Purdue University 1955
Masters of Business Administration Pepperdine University.
Special Awards: TRW Chairman's Award for Special Innovation.
HIs hobbies included bridge, church, volunteerism, jazz/classical music, photography..., and more bridge.
He and Estella Gay retired to Scottsdale AZ and then eventually moving to Colorado Springs in 2006.
He was a man who quietly clung to the love and grace of GOD He strongly preferred to show his love in gifts of service and affirmation to his family, church and community.
His family celebrates a life well lived. His wisdom, humor, love, keen mind, and hugs will be dearly missed. He leaves a heritage of integrity, humility, and quiet godliness.

A graveside service for Dwight will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery Colorado Springs, 1005 Hancock Expy, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
