In her formative years she attended schools in Woodland, California and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1940 with a degree in economics. While at Berkeley she pledged the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and met the love of her life, Frank Davis Pryor, Jr. After college, Dorothy served in the WAVES and upon marriage, she and Dave lived an adventurous, military life living all over the United States as well as in England and Korea. In retirement, they continued their travels,
exploring this country and the world.
A life long Episcopalian, Dorothy was a member of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel. She had been a longtime member
of the Assistance League of Colorado Springs and worked regularly at their Bargain Box Thrift Store as well as giving time to the Episcopal Thrift House. In her spare time, Dorothy loved games and puzzles, and was an avid bridge player into her nineties.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother, Jim. She is survived by her three daughters: Nancy P. Kennedy and Kate Pryor of Colorado Springs and Jean P. Winton (Don) of Woodland
Hills, California; three grandchildren: William D. Kennedy, IV of Phoenix, Arizona, Todd J. Winton of Sherman Oaks, California, and Erin E. DiGennaro of Los Angeles, California; and five great grandchildren.
We would like to thank the staff at the Village of Skyline for their outstanding care of our mother these last few years. They are truly a selfless group of people.
