Dorothy Ann Bower

November 11,1926 - July 17, 2011

Dorothy went to meet our Lord on July 17. She was born in Iowa City, IA to John and Dorothy Meyers. She is preceded

in death by her parents, 3 newborn siblings, her husband, Donald and grandson, Steven. Dorothy was a registered nurse and a member of the WW II Cadet Nurse Corps. She met and married Donald G. Bower while working at the VA Hospital in Des Moines, IA. Their family moved to Security in 1963. She retired from Civil Service at Fort Carson, CO in 1983. In her retirement

years she worked part-time for the City of Colorado Springs, Planning Department.

Dorothy was a member of the Civil Service Union, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and St. Dominic Catholic Church. She was an avid Bronco and Avalanche fan and enjoyed CC hockey.

Dorothy is survived by 2 daughters Cathy(Lewis) King and Donna(David) Suloff and 2 sons John(Sandra) Bower and David(Sharon) Bower, 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church, July 30 at 10am with the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 9:30am.

Dorothy will be interred next to her husband at Evergreen Cemetery.
