Doris was born in Wichita, Kansas, on April 5, 1939, to Clarence and Lois Scovel. She graduated from Goddard High School, Goddard Kansas in 1957. That same year Doris moved to Colorado Springs with her family when her father, Clarence Scovel, supervised the first construction projects at the United States Air Force Academy. On April 11, 1958 Doris Jean married a young air man Fredrick Leo Poole in Colorado Springs, CO. Doris talked fondly of her work as a dental assistant and her many years serving in Widefield School District 3 where she nurtured life-long friendships. Doris loved the outdoors, working in her beautiful yards and gardens and her animals. Doris’s passions were her love of Jesus, her family, her beautiful yards and gardens and Doris was always surrounded by God’s creatures. She is survived by her younger sister Sue Hofer, her younger brother Barry Scovel (Gay Scovel), Sister in-law Diane Scovel and brother Troy Green (Denise Green). She is also survived by her five children, Bret Eugene Poole (Nicole Poole) Bart Leo Poole (Denise Poole) Fredrick Todd Poole (Patty Poole) Donald Trent Poole (Grace Poole) and Rebekah Doris Lux (Michael Lux) as well as 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren. Doris was also blessed with nieces, nephews and other loving family. Family, friends and others are invited on August 19 at 2PM, to Fellowship of the Rockies, located at 1625 S 8th St, Colorado Springs, CO 80905, to celebrate and honor Doris “Mom’s” life.
