On March 17, 2024, Dolores “Jean” Vallejos-Ontiveros took her final breath surrounded by her loved ones. She graced her presence to the world on March 5, 1944, in Del Carbon, Co., a day the world became a little brighter. She lived a full and Blessed life, filled with joy, kindness and LOVE, along with many medical hardships throughout her life. She will FOREVER be in our hearts and will be sadly missed by many.
Dolores “Jean” attended Walsenburg Colo. schools, Hill School and Huerfano High School and married Salomon Ben Vallejos in 1961 (Deceased July 10, 1985). She has lived in Colorado Springs since 1968, attended Pikes Peak Community College, now State College where she became a nurse. Employed by Fort Carson Evans Community hospital for 30 years-Retiring in 2004. Also, she worked at Medallion Retirement (15 years), took 1 year off retiring once again. Her last employer was MGA Homecare (6 years) and over the course of her career worked at various other agencies in the Co. Spgs. area. She loved nursing and especially at Ft. Carson hospital! Often times she worked three, until she had a stroke in 2018.
Dolores “Jean” Vallejos-Ontiveros was an active-member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Rosary Society (1830 S. Corona Ave., C/S Co. 80905).
She is survived by her husband, Gabriel Ontiveros, married December 31, 1999 and lovingly together 25 years.
First marriage: Two Sons, Dennis Vallejos (Kenna) St. George, UT, Robbie Vallejos (Monica) Co. Spgs., Co., and One Daughter, Lorri Vallejos Denver, Co.
Six Grandsons, Garrety Hudkins, Dennis Vallejos Jr., Antonio Vallejos, Rico Vallejos and Brian Roybal; Two Granddaughters, Brialle Sanchez and Celina Gonzales; Two Great-grandsons, Taven Hudkins and Elias Vallejos; Two Great-granddaughters, Lillianna Gonzales and Kaidence Jean Vallejos; Two Surviving Sisters, Linda Salazar of Denver, Co and Barbara Deherrera of Pueblo, Co.
Step-children, Alicia Lopez (Ceasar), Isabel (Roberto), Jesus Ontiveros (Fabilo), Step-grandchildren, Esmeralda Ontiveros, Keyla Lopez, Elian Lopez, Gabriela, Leslie Ontiveros, Landry Ontiveros and numerous nieces and nephews.
I’ve ALWAYS lived by this: “God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can and Wisdom to know the difference.”

10 a.m.-Rosary, 10:45 a.m.-Eulogy, 11 a.m.-Funeral Mass
