Dennis Alan Crosser, 69, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 after a short battle with lung cancer.
Dennis was a Colorado native, born in Denver on May 5, 1952 to the late Duane Everett Crosser and Barbara Lou Crosser. In 1963, he moved with his family to Security, Colorado where he graduated from Widefield High School in 1970. He continued his education at Pikes Peak Community College majoring in business education with a minor in radio and television broadcasting, sound, and electronics. Dennis married his lovely bride, Deby (Heckel), on September 20, 1997.
In 1990 Dennis became a full-time driver for El Paso County Fountain Valley Senior Citizens Progam in Fountain, Colorado, where he advanced to the position of Transportation Coordinator in 1997. He was promoted to the Transportation and Operations Director position in 2006 in which he remained until his retirement in 2018. During his tenure at the senior center, he produced and directed multiple fundraising talent shows each year. He enjoyed having his family join him in these talent shows as well as performances at assisted living facilities and other local engagements.
Dennis’ greatest passion was music. He was a self-taught, accomplished pianist and also played keyboard, guitar and bass. Dennis composed over 60 original songs, reaching people of all ages with his music. He devoted his time performing for weddings, receptions, church functions, state fair outings, senior citizen organizations, and other local venues.
His love for music and God also led him to serve as pianist for Skyway Baptist Church (1994-1997) and Circle Drive Baptist Church (1997-2016). In April 2016, Dennis became the pianist at Heart Song Church and acted as Music Director from October 2020 until his passing
He loved volunteering as a piano accompanist and playing character roles in local melodrama and variety groups. For the last 13 years, Dennis participated as a proud member of the Song Spinners Colorado Springs Show Choir both vocally and as piano/keyboard accompanist.
