Satin Zeine-Johnson passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 4, 2023, while surrounded by family, after a fast and furious bout with Alzheimer’s. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lt. Col. (Ret.) US Air Force Donald A. Zeine and Madelyn Zeine. Satin is survived by her husband, David Johnson, whom she married on April 25, 1987; sister, Diedra Daugherty; nephews, Benjamin Dale and Phil (Kim) Daugherty, nieces Sarah Coghlan, Jennifer (AddieJo) Dale, and Megan Daugherty; great-nephews and nieces Ethan and Sean Bryant, Cora Coghlan, Gabriel Daugherty, Mikaela Daugherty, Anson, Charlie, and Lily Daugherty, and Harper Dale; godson Sean Hagerman. Satin was born on March 16, 1954, in Atlanta, GA and grew up all over the world as part of an Air Force family. She was small in stature but giant in heart, humor, and strength. She loved animals, especially horses, dogs, and cats. She was a gifted woodworker, herbalist, and candle maker. Her vivacious, outgoing, loyal, and caring spirit touched so many near and far; if she knew you or knew of you, she loved you (unless you needed an attitude adjustment). She spent 30 years working as a civil servant, ending up as the webmaster for U.S.A.F.A. from which she retired in 2009. Through her life she rescued horses, dogs and countless cats, all of whom had the best life with she and David. She volunteered at Spirit Keeper Equine Rescue where she was also a board member. She will be missed fiercely by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. A private Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 14th, 2023. Contact David Johnson ([email protected]) for details.
