She was born to David A Jones and Bessie Mae Steele in Ankara, Turkey, while her father was stationed there with the US Army. Debbie grew up in Security, Colorado and attended Widefield High School.
Debbie went on to work as a waitress and property manager before eventually opening Debbie's Café in Motor City(Colorado Springs.) She loved numbers and worked as an accountant. Debbie then married Dan Carmichael for 20 years before divorcing. Her latest career was as a CNA and really enjoyed working with her clients. When she became ill, she moved in with her sister and brother-in-law for a few years.
Debbie loved the outdoors, particularly fishing; playing card games such as Euchre and Rummy; quilting, knitting; and was a member of American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her father, David A. Jones; mother, Bessie Mae Florence; nephews, Phillip and Randall Jones.
Debbie is survived by her daughter, Connie Kay Kates (Ryan) of New Palestine, Indiana; grandchildren, Maggie and Cooper; sister, Elaine Saunders(Dennis); brother, Rob Jones(Denise) of Fountain, Colorado and Randy Jones of Colorado Springs, Colorado; nieces and nephews, Shawn, Greg, Jennifer, Amanda and William.
Family would like to thank Debbie's caregivers at Life Care Center and Compassus Hospice.
