David G. Stockdale

He was born February 5th, 1953 in Suffolk, England; the son of Guy Everett Stockdale and Doreen Herbert Stockdale. Dave's father was in the U.S. Airforce and his mother was an England native. They were relocated back to the United States in 1954. After living in various cities; his father retired from the Airforce, settling in Topeka, Kansas in 1963.

Dave enlisted and served in the U.S. Army in September 1975. His duty station was Fort Carson, Colorado Springs. He received an honorable discharge September 11th, 1978.

Dave married his high school sweetheart, Lana Kay Craig, on February 28th, 1976, in Colorado Springs. They both loved Colorado, building a life, family and home together in Colorado Springs. They are proud parents of two beautiful children; Brian Guy Stockdale(38) of Colorado Springs, and Lindsey June Stockdale(30), she lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband Scottie Nicholson.

Dave branched his career as a Drywall Finisher and became a Foreman, working for GE Johnson Construction Company.

Dave's family and friends were extremely important in his life. He volunteered and loved being a soccer coach for several years when his kids were growing up; taking teams to competitions throughout Colorado. He was an avid Broncos fan, enjoying many football get togethers and attended a few live Broncos games. Many trips were made over the years to Cripple Creek, Colorado with Lana and friends. His passion was video poker and his face lit up when he won a Royal Flush! They also ventured to Vegas a few times!

Dave and Lana shared a lasting, loving marriage for over 44 years; living in their current home over 36 years. He loved maintaining his lawn and flower gardens.

A Memorial Service will take place at Mountain View Mortuary, Friday, June 26th at 2pm. (2350 Montebello Square Drive, Colorado Springs, CO, 80918)

A Celebration of Life will follow after the service with family and family friends.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
