David N. Ochs, age 61, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away suddenly on December 24, 2012 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Wichita, Kansas on May 21, 1951, the second of two sons born to Lawrence and Martha Lou Ochs.
David grew up in Colorado Springs and graduated from Wasson High School in 1969. After graduating from the University of Colorado in Boulder, he returned to Colorado Springs where he practiced as a real estate appraiser with both SREA and MAI advanced certifications. In most recent years, David worked at Acorn Petroleum, his family’s locally owned enterprise.
David was a licensed private pilot who enjoyed flying model airplanes, restoring antique automobiles, and reading, especially about World War II.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, loving wife Linda Ochs; three daughters Kelly Ochs Mininger of Colorado Springs, Sherylann Ochs (Danny) Dennie of Forney, Texas and Deborah Ochs Alvarez of Colorado Springs; seven grandchildren Reece, Aidan, Trey, Austin, Nathan, Daniel and Abigail; brother Stephen, nephews Craig and Jason and niece Jessica as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A Memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church,
420 North Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, 80903.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Colorado Springs.
