He died on October 31, 2022 and was preceded in death by his father Isabel Arrambide, his sister Becky Arrambide Yawn, his niece Dianne Arrambide, and his mother-in-law Ruth Perez Gonzales. He is survived by his wife Norma, son Diego, mother Elvira Arrambide, brothers Henry (Tina) and Oscar (Liz) Arrambide, father-in-law Rev. Dr. Noé Gonzales, several in laws and nieces and nephews.
He highly valued education and graduated from Austin High School and received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at The University of Texas at El Paso. He also completed a Master’s of Public Administration degree at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. He was in the midst of completing a second master’s degree in political science at Colorado State University Pueblo. David lived a life of service and dedication to others as exemplified in his careers in retail service, non-profit organizations, and education. He was a mentor and consummate teacher in every area. He was a division manager at Sears Roebuck where he participated in Junior Achievement. Later he served as Executive Director and Fund Development Specialist at United Way and was a National Trainer and Hispanic Initiative Program Director at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. He moved to Colorado Springs to serve as the National Hispanic Initiative Program Director at Junior Achievement Worldwide. For the last several years, he’s been in the field of education. He was the Associate Director of Development at the University of Colorado Foundation. He also taught in the social studies department at Sierra High School and Panorama Middle School in Harrison School District 2 as well as an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Colorado State University Pueblo.
He loved learning and teaching others to learn was a passion. He used creativity in his classroom to motivate his students, and they loved him for it. The primary passion of David’s life was his family. He fiercely loved his precious wife Norma and their beloved son Diego. They enjoyed being together, traveling together and cheering on their USC Trojans (Fight On!) The many memories of his relationships and contributions will sustain us all.
