David ( Dave) Ahl passed away on Nov 9, 2015 while in Pikes Peak Hospice care, in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born Jan 8, 1952 in Flint Michigan, the oldest of two children adopted by the late Veronica and Glenn Ahl.
Dave grew up in Mt. Morris, Michigan and attended both private and public schools there. After graduating from high school in 1970, Dave became a police officer with the Flint/Buick Police Department. While working for Buick police department, he attended University of Michigan and graduated with a degree in environmental engineering.
After completing his college degree he was employed by Buick as a supervisor. Dave retired from Buick and moved to Rockville, IN where he owned a dinner. In 1997, Dave moved to Colorado Springs. He worked at Focus on the Family and Biblica (formerly International Bible Society). Dave was medically retired in 2003. During his retirement he drove cars for a local car dealership and for the last 18 months was an independent Arbonne consultant.
Dave was the founder of Colorado Paranormal Team. He loved investigating a number of historic buildings in Old Colorado City. His team was a big part of his life and he cherished the life-long friends he made from this group.
Dave leaves behind his wife Becky Ahl of 6 yrs; 2 daughters, Emily (Mark) Orsborn and Rachel (Matt) Woolworth; 2 step daughters, Tara DeWitt and Michelle (Crade) Scott; 7 grandchildren, Cooper, Blake and Maggie Orsborn, Lucas and Ronald Woolworth and Coben and Ryley Scott; Niece, Stephanie (Josh) Kelley; Father-in- Law, Ernie Welch.
Dave loved going to the movies with Ryley and Coben, watching the Bronco games with Tara, and enjoying morning coffee with Michelle.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeri McPhilimy.
Celebration of Dave's life will be held Nov 16, 2015, 3:00 p.m. at the Old Colorado City Historical Society Museum, 1 S. 24th St. Reception to follow.
