

Clyde was born November 19th, 1929 in Lewisburg, Tennessee. He had three sisters and one brother. Clyde Thomas Hartley came to Colorado Springs by way of the Army, where we served as a cook. It was there he met and married Mary Louise Grimaldo-Hartley in 1952. They had two children together, Sara L. Toves (deceased), and Clyde Jr., two grandchildren, Michael and April, one great-grandchild, Brandon, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The two were happily married for 72 years.
During his lifetime, he worked at the Air Force Academy for many years until his retired. He served as a supervisor over the custodial department. Clyde was also a member of the Post 5 American Legion for 42 years as well as the Eagles for 35 years.
Clyde enjoyed going up to Cripple Creek and playing on the slot machines in his free time. He also enjoyed camping and loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, two sisters, one brother, his wife, and two of his children.
A visitation for Clyde will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1pm. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM,followed by a reception 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
