Christine Borg Simmons, beloved companion of 48 years to her husband, Terry Simmons, passed away on June 10, 2021 at her home in Colorado. Chris was born to Myrna and David Borg on May 15, 1950 in Pocatello, Idaho but grew up in Utah. Chris was the oldest of her siblings and is survived by her brothers David (Cindy) and Steven as well as her sister, Myrna Lynn. She was preceded in death by her father and brother John. Chris is also survived by her children, David (Marsha), Andrea Biglen, Patrick (Dara) and Kara as well as her grandchildren, Sydney Simmons, Wyatt Simmons, Trinity Biglen and Valorie Simmons.
Chris attended Olympus High School and was a National Scholar. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with a minor in Chemistry.
Beyond being a wonderful homemaker, Chris was a counselor at a dude ranch in Wyoming in her youth, a Quality Control Chemist at Liquid Paper and an Environmental Chemist at
Hauser Laboratory in Boulder Colorado. Chris and her family had the opportunity to live in many different places such as Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Arizona and Germany but Colorado was home.
Chris enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needlepoint, knitting and was an excellent quilter. Her love of quilting led her to teach some classes and become a wonderful friend to several through her quilting circles. She was an active member in many quilting clubs in Colorado as well as when she lived in Germany. She was also able to combine her love of quilting and her church to create many appreciated and needed projects. Chris was deeply spiritual and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
As both a mother and foundation for the family, she will be deeply missed.
The funeral for Christine will be held at her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1310 Aeroplaza Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80916, on the Friday, 18th of June at 11am.
