Christel Brown

October 8, 1939 – September 19, 2010

On September 19, 2010 our beloved mom and grandma passed away. She was a long-time resident of Colorado Springs. Mom had rare intelligence, dignity and grace. Sometime eccentric but that’s what always attracted people to mom. An avid nature and animal lover, she showered her knowledge about life to everyone she encountered. She was born in Berlin Germany on October 8, 1939, to Edith Dvorak Baus and Eric Walter Schrader. Growing up during wartime in Berlin Germany, she shared countless stories about her survival and perseverance. Christel was preceded in death by her beloved mother “Nani” Edith and father Eric. She is survived by her five children Monica, Yvonne, Kimberly, Robert and Tracey as well as ten grandchildren, great grandchildren and her beloved cat “Gussy-lein”.

At Christel’s request she will be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 2:30 pm at Olinger Highland Chapel (new Chapel) Thornton, Colorado.
