Retired Brigadier General, Charles G. Fredericks, 97, passed away on March 28, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Charles “Fritz” was born on February 4, 1914 in Long Island City, New York to the late Charles and Barbara (Millemann) Fredericks.
Upon graduating from West Point in 1939, Charles was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant of Infantry and enjoyed a military spanning thirty years. He was able to serve in the Pacific, Panama and Europe. Charles is a graduate of the Army War College and the Armed Forces Staff College. His awards and achievements include the Distinguished Service Medal, Silver Star, Legion of Merit and Bronze Star Medal.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of more than sixty years, Anita; daughters, Dolores Fredericks and Barbara Nulty; sons, Charles and Carl; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Private family services are planned with inurnment following in the West Point Cemetery in West Point, New York.
