JoAnn was born May 5, 1932 in Englewood Colorado to Henry (Sandy) Hawn and Lois Higginson Hawn. She graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in 1950.
JoAnn married Don Huddleston December 23, 1950. They were married for 66 years before Don’s passing in 2017. JoAnn is survived by their four daughters, Catherine Huddleston Snodgrass (James), Shirley Huddleston Corbett (Dwight), Gina Huddleston and Debra Huddleston Ferguson; Nine Grandchildren, Nine Great-Grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild expected to arrive in January of 2024.
JoAnn volunteered and later was employed by Eisenhower Hospital as the volunteer Coordinator but her greatest joy in life was raising her children and grandchildren.
In her younger years she enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping, sewing and bowling. In her later years she was a voracious reader, consuming five to six books per week, and would spend her mornings working her crossword puzzles.
JoAnn was known for her quick smile and the twinkle in her eye. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of being loved by her. We find comfort in knowing that she is now dancing amongst the stars with her beloved.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, November 24 at Chapel of Memories, 829 S Hancock Ave, Colorado Springs.
In lieu of flowers please feel free to donate to Gentiva Hospice located at 6270 Lehman Drive #150 Colorado Springs, CO 80918
