Carol was such a sweet person, always friendly and cheerful.

I was fortunate enough to call Carol my sister in law, my teammate and my coworker.  As we went through life’s ups and downs, she became my friend.  Even though we weren’t able to see one another as often as we used to, I always looked forward to the family occasions when we would reconnect.  We always picked up where we left off without missing a beat. I can’t believe I won’t get to see her smile or hear her laugh again but her warmth and kindness will inspire me to be a better person every day.  

Aunt Carol was not dealt the easiest hand in life but she always exuded an unspoken warmth, had the most infectious laugh and gave the biggest hugs.  It seems terribly unfair that she was taken away at a time when things were just starting to turn around in her life.  She deserved better.  I know I will have a hole in my heart just as there will be a hole in our family going forward.  I imagine everyone she knew will experience the same sense of loss; the world is a bit darker without her.  I will miss playing Masterpiece with her during game days and talking about our shared love of The Simpsons and Van Gogh.  I will miss her amazing Watergate Salad and the way she lit up when she talked about her son, Travis.  I feel lucky to have spent all of the time I got to spend with her, she made me aspire to be a gentler, kinder, better person.  Love you Aunt Carol, Taylor

My little sister ,Carol...was the cheerful one and always smiling  and always came by to visit ....even after work when she was tired. My whole feeling about her passing is how unfair and random life is-.
She will be greatly missed.

Remembering Carol Henry 

Carol took care of my mom, Joan, for the past 9 months, making sure she had balanced meals and that she took her insulin safely and accurately.  Carol was gentle, kind, and quite shy, but very meticulous about the details of her tasks at hand, always giving my mom a lengthy bear hug before leaving. 

Carol was my wakeup call around 7:15am every weekday morning when she’d say, “good morning, Barbara, I have your mom’s numbers.”  She would recite her blood & insulin levels, then detail what mom was eating, always ending the call by wishing me a nice day.  Our exchanges were short, but her care was steadfast and I always knew that my mom was in great hands.  

When I visited, she had shared some of the hardships she endured in her life, but shined with joy when she spoke of her son and of having reconnected with her high school sweetheart.  Her soft giggle and genuine smile could warm a room.  I am forever grateful to this kind soul whose heartfelt care made a difference in the quality of my mom’s life.

I feel like Carol was a part of my own family and I share your grief.  I am so very sorry for all of you and your adjustment to life without her.  

My condolences to the Travis clan. Carol had an endless smile and was a wonderful person.  Your loss is mine too.  The world is a little less joyful without her .
