Missing you buddy.  I esp miss our phone chats, even though we were a thousand mile apart. You were a really great person.  Kind, caring, and compassionate.  This world misses you. And I miss you.  But I know you're up there with Judy and your dad. Probably taking care of both of them, as it was just in your nature to look after others.

Brian and I were friends as kids.  And his mom Judy was the office manager at the doctors office I worked at from 1995-1998.  Brian had such a huge heart. He didn't have a mean bone in his body. He was one of the kindest, gentlest, soft-spoken, mild-mannered, and easy-going people I've ever known.  His phone calls would always cheer me up whenever I was sad or having a rough day.  He had such a calming and comforting way about him.  I still have the Colorado College t-shirts he mailed me from years back.  Heaven got a very special angel when they got Brian.  And it's comforting to know he's with Judy and his dad.  Rest in peace Brian. You touched so many lives and are deeply missed.


I really enjoyed working with Brian at Colorado College. He was a fellow Aries!! I’m sorry he was sick. 

I still can't wrap my head around this sudden loss!  I knew Brian when he was VP at Creighton University.  Brian was one of the kindest, most helpful, compassionate persons I knew -- always concerned about others.  Loved seeing his smiling face and enjoyed his great sense of humor and calming nature.  One of my favorite stories he told frequently was his being assigned to the "kids' table" at his family celebrations -- told lovingly, of course!  I had recently communicated  with Brian regarding our impending move to Colorado Springs and was looking forward to catching up with him.  You will be missed far and away -- you left your kind mark on many, many people! Rest in peace, Brian.  

I just heard of Brian' s death.  What a tragic lost.  We worked closely at  Creighton where  we became a  great friends and colleagues.    I have missed our golf games and time together in Omaha since he moved to Colorado.  My condolences to his friends and family.

Oh cuz, as we called each other, I miss you like crazy already!!!! I can’t believe I’m not going to get anymore texts from you about drinking fine wine and eating good sushi!! 
The last time I saw you, you wined and dined me at Ruth’s Chris in Indy!. Oh what a night that was Brian!!! So many laughs we had that night AND the next morning!!! 
The time before that, we had a couple’s hot stone massage when we stayed at that resort in Arizona for your brothers wedding! Again, so MANY laughs!!! 
Cuz, I am going to miss our random texts and phone calls. I love you and I hope you are enjoying the most expensive red wine and the best sushi EVER!!!

Brian, I will miss your sense of humor, your thoughtful counsel and your friendship.  Because of your behind the scenes leadership, QUAD has become such a successful organization. I met Brian back in 2014 after he arrived @ Colorado College.  I was working for Brocade at the time and we were involved with the Campus Network Upgrade project.  Since then, we have worked on a number of IT projects.  Brian was such a strategic thinker, smart, concise, and a very shrewd negotiator.  I enjoyed working with Brian but it was not always easy as he demanded a lot of his vendors.   I am a better person to have known and worked with Brian and his team @ CC.  We will miss him as will the College.  

I had the honor and privilege of working for Brian at Creighton University. Like many others, he took a chance on me early in my career. He taught me so much about leadership and compassion. Brian was famous for saying “It’s all about the people” when complicated situations required tough decisions. He always stood up for his team and would never, ever, let anyone fail. He will be dearly missed. He did so much for the students, teammates, universities, and communities he served. Thank you Brian. You made a huge impact on so many lives. 

Brian was one of my first mentors after I graduated college.  He taught me a lot, lessons I still use to this day. He taught me about leadership, about good wine, and how to play shuffleboard. 

He gave me a lot of opportunities that gave me a huge leg up in my career and for that I will always be grateful.  And he was always generous with his time and his home and for that I will be even more grateful.

He was taken from us too soon.  To his family, and his friends and his coworkers I am incredibly sorry for your loss. For all of our loss.  

I am deeply saddened by Brian’s untimely and sudden departure. Brian was a great co-worker, a leader, and a wonderful listener. He was instrumental in helping me find where I wanted my career to go. He helped provide the right guidance, opportunities, and experiences to prepare me for my professional path forward. I am thankful for the time I spent working with him while at Colorado College. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and the CC Team.

Brian was a good man and a friend that we were always glad to see when he came back to Nebr to visit.  He was able to see trends and find good people to help him bring new ideas to the workplace.  We always had a good time when Brian was around!

Brian was without a doubt the very best boss I have ever had the honor of working within my career. He taught and modelled true leadership, vision, and strategic planning. He found each of our talents in the ITS Department at CC and built upon them. Through the years as my family moved back to our home in Alaska Brian would text a hello or a teasing message which always brought laughter. I've always looked up to him and honestly, my life became better because he was in my life. I will miss him greatly and wish everyone who loved him peace. 

With Brian's passing, the world has lost a true gentleman. There is a lesson for us in his kindness, concern for others, love of family, and his faithful approach to life. Whether we were on the golf course or Brian stopped in my office at CC, he never failed to raise my spirits and bring a smile to my face. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant. You will be missed. 

I had the privilege of being Brian's assistant at Creighton University.  He was so kind and gracious to me and encouraged me to reach for the stars.  I will forever be grateful for him giving the  opportunity to find those stars.  Rest in peace my dear friend.  


Brian hired me in 2008 in the IT department at CU. He was always willing to drop just about anything to help out with a project, or whatever trials and tribulations approached the University.

His very candid and selfless leadership will be forever missed and remembered by all.

Brian was a colleague of mine at Creighton University.  I remember fondly working with him to solve many IT problems and talking with him at various social/work events.  He was smart, articulate, always helpful and was willing to assist with any  tech issue facing the College of Arts and Sciences.  I am certain he will be missed.

We want to express our condolences to Brian's family and friends. We spent a lot of time with Brian during his time at Creighton University. We shared many a meal (and a few cocktails) at our home with Brian and our dear friend, Fr. John Schlegel, S.J., Creighton's President and Brian's then-boss. Brian was funny, bright, and unfailingly kind to our family, especially our three young adult children.  Brian was a great talent and a wonderful guy, and we are so sorry to learn of his untimely passing. He will be missed.

For all time coming, I will fondly remember grilling Omaha Steaks (low and slow to Brian’s chagrin), drinking Michelob Ultra, listening to him complain about his “Bungels,” and laughing at each other’s jokes on beautiful Colorado evenings.

Brian was the most generous and thoughtful person I have met. He was like family. We shared many great times over the years- working through challenging problems over wine & dinner, competing at Golden Tee, and chasing golf balls around the golf course. Brian was a tremendous mentor and loyal friend. He loved red wine, salmon, and really good sushi. When I met Brian, I was a student tech at HWS, when I graduated he hired me full-time, then convinced me to move to Omaha/Creighton where he was a great friend, mentor, and boss. After I moved back to NY, Brain continued to keep in touch- encouraging me to visit him in Colorado Springs, and catching dinner when we landed in the same city. Brian’s many lessons in friendship and life will be with me forever, but I will miss Brian greatly and will cherish all the great memories we had together. Until we meet again, my friend. 


Brian lived his life to love and support others- his mother was always so very proud of his work and accomplishments and he had the heart of his father.  His sister Amy and brother Scott are feeling such incredible loss, but they hold good memories close and Heather even closer to their hearts.  Please continue to share your memories and appreciations- it brings them great comfort.  

Brian joined our lives in 2003. He was a boss, friend, mentor, comedian, baby sitter, entertainer, strategist, master negotiator, coordinator, thinker, and someone that believed in me and so many others around him. I wouldn't be the person I am today without his influence and the opportunity he afforded me. He forever left is mark on me and my family which we will continue to share with others around us. I have comfort in knowing that he lives on within but wish I could share one more glass of wine and a boisterous laugh with BAY.

Brian was one of the finest men I ever knew.  We were great friends and colleagues at Creighton University and great friends after.  My deepest sympathies to his family and all his friends.  I am heartsick.

There are way too many to choose from, everyone of them carrying us through this difficult  time.  Our prayers and condolences go out to his entire family, friends, colleagues as I know his impact touched everyone as genuinely as he has touched our lives.  We miss you B, Bay, “G”.
