Brian Jolly, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2011, in Colorado Springs, Colorado from a heart attack. He was born on February 16, 1951 in Solihull, West Midlands, England. Brian was the 9th of 14 children born to parents Sylvia (Thorne) and Idris Jolly.
Upon completion of his education, Brian left England while in his 20’s and lived in Switzerland and Germany where he worked as a highly skilled machinist/engineer. Brian and his first wife and their daughter moved to the USA in 1990 to pursue his work career. He settled in Colorado Springs in 1991 and worked for the Trane Corporation in Pueblo over the years. He later moved to Green Mountain Falls, where he was the owner of the Falls Motel for 17 years before retiring last November. Brian remarried on March 19, 1999, and he and Kathie loved living down on the Westside.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Peter, and sister Jane. He is survived by his wife, Kathie, daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Pernell Dugay of Phoenix, Arizona, stepson, David (Ellen) Latzman, of Overland Park, Kansas, stepson, Kevin (Jaime) Latzman, of Bloomfield, New Jersey, 11 siblings (John, Alan, Barbara, David, Terry, Susan, Paul, Marian, Roy, Carol and Keith) all of England, and many extended family members.
Brian will be remembered as a gentle person who accepted people for who they are, an avid golfer and sports enthusiast, a constant reader, a lover of English comedy, a person with a quick wit, a loyal friend, a devoted husband, and a father who loved his daughter more than anything in the world. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Brian’s Memory to Pikes Peak Junior Golf, 3603 Alpine Place, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
