Barbara was born in Wray, Colorado on September 28, 1945 to Myron and Marjorie Pike. She was the second of three daughters Karen and Michele.
She graduated from Roy J. Wasson High School in 1963 in Colorado Springs where her father, a career military officer, had retired four years earlier. She stayed in Colorado Springs to attend Colorado College.
She met Francis L. Setterquist who later graduated from the USAF Academy. They were married June 9, 1966, and welcomed their bundle of joy, Scott M. Setterquist, April 30, 1968. Francis deployed to Vietnam 12 days later and was declared Missing In Action August 23, 1968.
On Sept 26, 1981 she married Dr. Richard Moothart, a cardiologist in Colorado Springs. She and her son became part of a happily blended family, joining Richard and his children. They enjoyed many family vacations and several biking trips. Barbara had always been an active person who enjoyed walking, bowling, yoga, and painting. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren.
