Barbara Ann Hinds, age 77 of Monument Colorado, passed away March 14, 2018. She was born to Carrol Luke Robinson and Helen Viola Gilmore on May 31, 1940, in Denver, Colorado. Barbara had two siblings: Gail and Jerry. At 9 months she moved to La Jara, Colorado where she grew up helping her parents on the ranch while attending school. She was a cheerleader in school & voted homecoming queen of La Jara High School her senior year.
Barbara married Gary Hinds on June 15, 1958, and moved to Denver; they were married 60 years.
Barbara worked at Martin Marietta for 3 years until becoming pregnant with her first child. Her top priority was always family and friends. She had two more children and focused on full-time homemaking. Barbara was a Girl Scout leader and a sports Mom. Some of her favorite activities and hobbies were cooking, crafts, sewing, traveling, hiking, 4-wheeling, cheering for the Broncos and playing fantasy football. She was proud of her fantasy football championship. She volunteered at Hiwan Homestead Museum where she taught wool spinning classes to all ages for several summers. Additionally, she liked playing cards, was tech-savvy and authored a biography about her Mother's life. Barbara is survived by her husband, Gary; Mother, Helen; siblings: Gail and Jerry, children: Vickie (Ken), Bret (Karen) and Bryan (Rebekah), nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many caring relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will take place at Cherry Hills Community Church, 3900 Grace Blvd., Highlands Ranch, Colorado on May 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM.
