Kay is survived by her husband, Dr. Louis Hill; children, Mike Hill and Kim DeGraaf; siblings, Ronnie and Gene Culpepper; four grandchildren, Jen, Jordan, Ashton, and Logan; and one great-grandson, Dominic. She is preceded in passing by her parents, Joseph and Ruth Culpepper.
Kay was born on May 23, 1941 in Columbus, Georgia. She was known for her good nature, good looks, and good grades, and graduated from Jordan Vocational High School as the first female senior class president in 1959, and then from Columbus College with a BS in Elementary Education in 1971.
In 1961, she married Louis, her high school sweetheart; dating since she was fourteen, this year marked 62 years together and their 56th wedding anniversary. She was an elementary school teacher before they had their two children, Mike and Kim, and then she was a stay-at-home mom. They joined The Navigators in 1972, and then started Reformed Discipleship Ministries in 1995.
They were a team, sharing God’s love and lessons on parenting, marriages, and disciple-making through one-on-one, groups, seminars, and conferences. As a wife, mother, and homemaker, Kay sought to live her life by Titus 2:3-5, and she passionately believed in the power of prayer. Her happy spirit, kind heart, smiling eyes, praying knees, and southern charm touched so many lives.
All are welcome to join us at 2:00 pm on November 11th, 2017 at Village Seven Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs for a Memorial Service to celebrate the life and ministry of Kay Hill and to hear and share stories and testimonies remembering a life lived loving Jesus.
