Anthony L. Gallegos (3/26/1935-2/10/2017) passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of February 10th, 2017 after a battle with heart complications. He was born in Colorado Springs, CO on March 26th, 1935 to his mother Betty Mary Tafoya. He was raised in Colorado by his mother Betty And her husband Alfred Martinez. He had two brothers, Alfred and Rudy Martinez, and one sister Beatrice Martinez.
He was an Air Force Veteran who served his country and was honorably discharged. He was a mechanic, who loved classic cars (lowriders and hot rods). He enjoyed going to car shows and building models. He spent lots of time watching his favorite silver screen movies and carving wood. He spent the largest portion of his life in the Rocky Mountains and took his grandkids camping up at Trout Haven near Cripple Creek often in his younger years. His legacy will live on in the memories of his family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elvera Gallegos. He is survived by his three children Jackie Jaramillo, Van and David Lucero , and ten grandchildren Carisa, Daniela, Luis, Alejandro, Vanessa, Rebecca, Sara, Paul, Bobbi and Christie. He had 11 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He will be remembered, loved and missed by his family. God Rest His Soul.
A Memorial Mass and service is scheduled for March 3, 2017 at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The services will held at The Village At Skyline, 2365 Patriot Heights, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 followed by a reception hosted by the family.
