Anita Maria Preston was born December 18, 1963 in Birmingham, Alabama to mother, Margaret Nell Preston and father, Willie James Alexander. At the age of 9, she went to live with her aunt and uncle, Jacqueline and Jack Williams in Germany; thanks to her uncle being stationed there while in the military. She lived there for some years until moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado. Anita graduated from Mitchell High School in 1982. After graduating, Anita continued to reside in Colorado, making a living working hard. She gave 20 plus years in many management customer service positions, where she was highly respected and loved for how she treated people she crossed paths with. That is what Anita was about, treating people how she wanted to be treated: with honesty, dignity and respect.
During the course of time, she gave birth to two children, a son; Marcel Preston, and a daughter; Tyketa Preston. Being a single parent, Anita still provided the very best for her kids each and every day, raising them with good morals and standards. Anita continued to live her life to the fullest, no matter the circumstances and her memory will continue on in all of our hearts forever.
Anita is survived by her children, son; Marcel Preston and daughter; Tyketa Preston, her granddaughter; Riyah Preston-Garner, her sister; Sherri L. Johnson, and two brothers; Ronald and Jacques Preston. Anita was preceded in passing by her mother; Margaret Nell Preston, sister; Valarie Elaine Preston, grandmother; Irene C Preston, and cousin; Terri Preston.
The Day God Took You Home
A million times I've needed you, a million times I've cried, if love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life I loved you dearly. In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place, no one else can ever fill. It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn't go alone. Part of me went with you, the day God took you home.
