Al was born on April 20th, 1941 to Clyde and Neoma Nabb in Maquoketa Iowa; where, he lived his childhood and graduated from Maquoketa High school. Al went on to join the army, making it a 24-year career. During this time, he served in the Vietnam War within Communications and later, as a Re-enlistment NCO. While in the army, he married Chong (Penny) Nabb on May 17th, 1967. After retiring from the military, Al and Penny Nabb owned the Rainbow Laundry Mat and later New Look Beauty Supply; where, they eventually retired.
Alvin is preceded in death by his father Clyde Nabb, mother Neoma Nabb, and sister Shirley Current. Alvin is survived by his brother Lloyd Nabb, wife Chong Uk Nabb, son Troy Nabb, daughter in law Beatriz Nabb, daughters Deb Porter Rebal and Terri Baldwin Welch, grandchildren Josiah Nabb and Delainey Nabb, and nephews Tony Mclaughlin, Ki Choi, Joe Choi, Mike Choi, and Stephan Choi.
Funeral service will be held at Memorial Gardens on October 19th, 2024, from 10am visitation, 11am service, and 12pm burial.
