Danny was the middle son of three boys born May 19, 1945 in Sweetwater, Texas to J.L. and Mabel Whittaker Galey. Danny had been a lifelong resident of Colorado City, where he attended, graduated, and eventually retired from teaching at Colorado High School, where he worked for over 15 years. Danny had a passion for cars. He was the Auto Technician teacher at Colorado High, he owned a mechanic shop in Colorado City for a number of years, and he was a member of the C-City Rider Car Club, he especially loved the older cars. In his spare time you could find Danny outside playing with his grandkids, whom he spoiled rotten, if mom said no, just ask pe-pa and it quickly became a yes. He spent his Sundays watching Nascar always routing for Jimmy Johnson. When not spending time with his grandchildren Danny could be found out running or maybe even cycling, chances are if there was a marathon in the area he was in it.
Danny was a wonderful father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his daughter, Janine Galey, his grandchildren Delynn Womack, Tyler Heavin, and Kylee Galey, as well as his brother John Hubbard Galey and wife Becky, several nieces and nephews and a long-time friend Mary Lou Costabile.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents, J.L. and Mabel Galey, his brother Jimmy Galey, and a granddaughter Denise Heavin.
