She was born on October 24, 1938 in Castroville Texas to Vicente and Tomasa Costilla Nuncio.
Rafaela was a kind hearted woman who loved her God and her family with all her heart. She made sure to teach her son the proper way to act in life and how to love family and God. She also spent many years helping to raise her nieces and nephews, teaching them valuable life lessons and treating them as if they were her own. She was the type of woman who looked at everything in life with a positive attitude. In her younger years Rafaela loved to go dancing. But taking care of plants was one of her biggest passions, one that she used most of her life both at home and at work. In her spare time she could be seen crocheting, watching the Dallas Cowboys or watching her favorite Novellas on the Television. Those that spent time with her knew that she could make a great hot sauce. She was a member of Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Colorado City and a member of the Guadalupanas
Rafaela is survived by her son Rudy Franco of Colorado City and by her grandchildren Theodore Franco, Felecia Franco, Perla Franco, and Emerald Franco, as well as by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Teodoro Franco in 1976, by her parents, and by her siblings; Domingo Nuncio, Carmen Nuncio Garza, Maria Nuncio Oliva, and Cesario Nuncio
A mass of Christian Burial for Rafaela will be held at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 18th at 10 am with Father Tony Franco officiating, burial to follow in the Colorado City Cemetery. The family will be present for a visitation on December 17th from 6-8 pm with a rosary to be held at 7 pm in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel.
