Colorado City- Ola Mae Banks Johnson, age 84 took a walk with Jesus and stepped into eternity to receive her righteous and heavenly reward on Thursday, September 23, 2010 in Abilene, Texas. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Colorado City with Pastor Jesse Hooper officiating and burial to follow in the Colorado City Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Ola Mae was born on December 5, 1925 to Magen and Edna McKinney Banks in Cameron, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Colorado City and faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Colorado City until her health began to fail. Ola Mae married Ivy C. Johnson, Sr., on November 19, 1944 and within this union five children were born.
Leaving to cherish her memories and celebrate her life are five devoted and loving children: Margaret (Howard) Nelson, Glenpool, Ok, Pamela (John) Favors, Colorado Springs, Co, Kenneth Johnson, Abilene, Tx,, Larry (Viola) Johnson, Sapulpa, Ok., and Ivy Johnson, Jr., Colorado City, Tx; also twelve grandchildren: Daneshu, Shereka, Kimberly, Janise, Whitney, Stormi, Larissa, Jayla, Micaela, Peter, Mark (Renaica) and Chache; four great-grandchildren: Samarah, Kymera, Preston, Kenya; six brothers:
Cloydie C., J.D., Charles, Willie, Charlie, and Alvin; four sisters: Geneva, Dorothy, Nelda, and Neida; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her parents preceded her in death as did one sister, Lena Pearl.
Ms. Olie will truly be missed by those who loved her.
