Graveside services for Mildred Allen Bell Howard, 93, will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 23, 2015 in Colorado City Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home. Mildred passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on June 19, 1922 in Corsicana, Texas. She moved to Wink, Texas in 1935 with her Mom and Dad. She was elected school queen and graduated from Wink in 1939.
She received her teaching degree from Sul Ross State University. She married Ira Milton Howard, June 8, 1942 in Junction, Texas. She taught for 39 years in the Wink and Monahans schools. She and Milton moved from Wink to Stanton, then to Colorado City in 2002.
She was preceded in death by parents, Reno W and Rosa Jane (Way) Bell, sisters Joyce W. Bell and Madeline L. Bell Kulp, and daughter Karen Elaine Howard White.
Survived by husband, Ira Milton Howard, son Glenn Howard and wife, Nancy of Victoria, TX; daughters, Carol Ann Morton and husband, Allen of Wink, TX, Beth Brannan and husband Lee from Nacogdoches, TX; son-in-law Jim White and wife Jill from Colorado City, TX; Grandchildren, Allen Calvin Morton and wife Tracy of Midland TX; Jimmy Wayne Morton and wife Donna of Silver Creek MS; Teresa Morton of San Angelo, TX, Sherry Jo Morton from San Angelo, TX; Scotty Oneil Morton and wife Leah of Stockton, MO; Mecca Smith and husband Chris of Carrolton TX; Jason Brannan and wife Brandy of Longview, TX; Lindsay Schrader of West Palm Beach, FL; Amy Jo Brown and husband Chipper of Nacogdoches, TX; Clay White and wife, Erin of Muleshoe, TX; Rebecca Howard of Victoria, TX; Clint White and fiancé Liz of Colorado City, TX; Glenn Howard Jr. of College Station, TX; Clancy White of Colorado City, TX.
