Mary Lou Morales, age 67, passed away September 7, 2012 at her home; surrounded by her family after a 2 year battle with cancer. Mary Lou was a long time resident of Mitchell County, having lived in Colorado City for many years and later moving to Loraine to her most recent residence. Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents, Esteban B. Rivera and Candelaria Rivera; her son, Fidel Silva Jr.; and great-grandson, Landon L. Herrera. She is survived by her husband, Max Morales; children, Ricky Silva and wife JoAnn of Lone Oak, TX, Gloria Davila and husband Luis of Loraine, Mickel Morales and wife Jennifer of Trophy Club, TX, Beatrice Morales and fiancé Jeff Nunez of Abilene, TX, Johnny Morales of San Antonio, TX. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Siblings, Alice Hernandez and husband Thomas of Sand Springs, TX, Josie Harvey and husband Randy of Grand Prairie, TX, Emily Utham and Rick of Colorado City, Estefana Selvera of Grand Prairie, TX, George Rivera and wife Alice of San Antonio, TX, Mary Helen Cervantes and husband Efrain of Snyder, TX, Trini Rivera of Snyder, TX, Esteban Rivera Jr. of Snyder, TX, Doris Candelaria Reyes of Ft. Worth, TX, Margie Davila and husband Willie of Colorado City, Terry Cervantes and Elias of Snyder, TX, Nelly Helms and husband Gary of San Angelo, TX, Toni Wilson of Colorado City, and Jesse Rivera and wife Misty of Grand Prairie, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou thought her greatest legacy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lit up a room with her smile and laughter. She was a beautiful, loving, giving lady who will be greatly missed by her loved ones.
Visitation will be held from 8 AM to 7 PM on Sunday, September 9. A rosary will be held at 7 PM on Monday, September 10, at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, September 11, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Colorado City, with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell County Cemetery, Colorado City.
