She was born on April 18, 1920 in Hico, Texas the daughter of the late Thomas and Lillie Stewart Whitesides. Marcil was always a hard working woman, owning her own farm and her own restaurant called the Koffe Kup Kafe. When not at work she could be found with her family or at the Westbrook Baptist Church where she was a permanent fixture serving the church in any way that she could. Marcil always put God and family first. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend to those she loved and those that loved her.
Marcil is survived by her son Jimmy Moody and wife Janette of Westbrook, her grandchildren; Bobby (Dana) Moody, Alan (Leslie) Moody, Clayton (Jeran) Cannon, and Spencer (Melanie) Cannon, and by her great-grandchildren; Kristen (Paul) Browne, Kaci (Kyle) Rainbolt, Sykeshia Thurman, Drake (Sara) Thurman, Brittany Cannon, Brooke Cannon, Jade Cannon, Colton Cannon, Ledger Cannon, Jentry Cannon, and Allyssa Cannon. She is also survived by her brother W.D. Whitesides and numerous great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Hermon Moody, grandson Edward Cannon, and by her sister Gladys Richardson
Visitation for Marcil will be at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City from 6-8 pm on Friday, July 31, 2015. A funeral service will be held at the Westbrook Baptist Church on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 3pm. Interment will follow at the Colorado City Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers those wishing may make contributions to the First Baptist Church in Westbrook.
