Manuel Muñoz, Sr. 88, went to his heavenly home on March 29, 2018. Services will be at St. Ann’s Catholic Church at 10:00am on Tuesday with burial at Loraine Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 2, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Manuel Muñoz, Sr. was born on May 30, 1929 in Champion, TX to Trinidad & Epigmeñia Muñoz. He married Rita Marquez on October 12, 1958.
Manuel farmed and ranched for 74 years in Mitchell & Nolan Counties and was a great steward of the land.
Manuel had many quotes he lived by, but one of his favorites was “Work like you’re going to live forever and pray like you’re dying tonight.”
He is survived by 8 children. Manuel Muñoz, Jr. & wife Lenore, Margaret Roach, Martha Linam & husband Duane, Patty Perkin & husband Rick, Jerry Muñoz, Richard Muñoz & wife Michele, Terry Lujan & husband Gilbert, & Robert Muñoz & wife Lauren. He is survived by 15 grandchildren: Lauren, Andrew, Mark, Alexis, Brittany, Jacob, Bryanna, Seth, Sara, J. M., Morgan, Katherine, Madison, Patrick, & Dani. He is also survived by one sister Mary Muñoz of Snyder, TX. He was preceded in death by is wife Rita, his parents, & five brothers: Gregorio Sr., Dolores, Jesus, Pablo, Marcelino and three sisters: Maria Refugio, Angelina, and Juana.
Manuel was a man of God; instilling in his children and grandchildren the power of prayer and to love the Lord above all.
He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to St. Ann’s Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
