Manuel C Molina

He was born on September 10, 1943 in Colorado City to Jesus and Jesusita Cienega Molina. On June 20, 1962 Manuel married the love of his life, Marie Elena Martinez at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

Manuel was a man of great faith and was devoted to St. Ann’s Catholic Church serving as a Eucharistic Minister and the Director of Religious Education there for many years. His devotion to St. Ann’s was recognized in 2012 when he received the Papal Award of Knights and Dames of the Order of Pope St. Silvester from Pope Benedict XVI. Manuel worked many jobs throughout his life and was very well known throughout the community that he loved. He was a member of the local Jay-Cees chapter. You could always depend on him to give a helping hand or help someone in need. He was a jack of all trades who enjoyed doing woodwork making things such as cribs, rockers and swings. He was also a huge sports enthusiast, having coached pony and semi pro-league baseball and his church’s mens softball team. In his spare time Manuel could be seen mentoring his grandchildren whom he loved deeply, raising farm animals, watching the Dallas Cowboys win or lose and family gatherings in the his backyard where you could always have a volleyball or kickball game. For the Thanksgiving holiday he always joined in in a game of family football, he took pride in putting on the best firework show for the 4th of July and New Years Eve for his family and friends. Manuel just enjoyed all life had to offer. On any given Saturday you could find him dancing with his wife to the oldies and Tejano music in their living room while their children watched and then joined in and that is how he passed his love of music and dancing to his children. BBQing with his family and friends was one of his favorite pastimes as well as attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events even after his health began to decline.

Manuel is survived by his wife of 55 years Maria Elena Molina, by his children Manuel Molina Jr and wife Tracie of Colorado City, Marcus Molina and wife Mary Ann of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Molina and girlfriend Lisa Garza of Colorado City , Moises Molina and partner Mark Stiker of Indianapolis, Indiana, Marcello Molina and wife Lorie of Colorado City, Mona Quiroz and husband Robert of Colorado City, Mindy Sessions and husband Jason of Houston, and Michelle Potter and husband Brian of Colorado City. He is also survived by his brothers Louis Molina and wife Brenda of Colorado City, Arthur Molina of Odessa, Raymond Molina and wife Susie of Colorado City, and Danny Molina of Odessa, and by his sisters Ruth Ybarra and husband Miguel of Odessa, Mary Campbell , and Judy Molina both of Colorado City, as well as by 24 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren with another great-grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Monica Molina, a grandson Zachary Potter, a sister Alice Silva, and by 3 brothers Juan Molina, Ruben Molina, and Martin Molina.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Manuel will be held on Saturday, December 2nd at 11 am at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating. The family will be present for a visitation on Friday, December 1st from 6-8 pm in the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to be held at 7 pm.
