LaJuana was born December 23, 1934, in the Fairview community in Mitchell County, the daughter of R.E. and Versie McMillan. She married the love of her life, Linden Solomon, on December 23, 1951. They had two daughters, Peggy Smith and Phyllis Easter who were their biggest treasure. LaJuana was a farmwife and was proud of her country heritage. After Linden and LaJuana, affectionately known as Poppy and Grummy, retired, they spent much of their time visiting family and friends, RV-ing and tending to their home, Nutty Acres. Many friends enjoyed LaJuana’s cooking, especially her pecan pies. She loved her family and her cats with all her heart.
LaJuana is survived by her husband of 64 years, Linden, her daughters Peggy Smith and husband Donald of Colorado City, Phyllis Easter and husband Jimmy of Lubbock, 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She proceeded in death by her parents R.E. and Versie McMillan, sister Etta Lee Jones and brothers Robert (Bob) McMillan and Weldon McMillan.
A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Shields officiating. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery.
