Kenneth was born in Leesville, Indiana on March 29, 1928 to Chester Arthur and Eva May Rogers and moved to the New Mexico area during his childhood. After graduation, he spent several years working as a lineman before joining the Navy in 1950 as an electrician in the United States Navy Seabees. On May 1, 1953 Kenneth married the love of his life Shirley Jean Rogers. After the Navy, Kenneth and his wife had three children before moving to Colorado City, Texas in 1966 to be a Linemen Supervisor. In 1969, he then became the Manager of the Lone Wolf Electric Co-Op where he eventually retired in 1994. Over the years, he has been an active citizen of Mitchell county serving as a member of the Kiwanis Club, a board member of the Mitchell County Mission, a member of the Mitchell County Hospital board, a member of the Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce, a Mason, a Red Cross Volunteer, a Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church of Westbrook, and a multitude of committees for the First United Methodist Church of Colorado City, Texas.
Kenneth E. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Arthur and Eva May Rogers; two sisters Jeanette Grey and Delores Jones; and various nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years Shirley Jean Rogers; his three children Bobby Rogers, Michael Rogers and his wife Kathy Rogers, and Shaunna Rogers ;9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A service for Kenneth E. Rogers will be on Thursday July 13th at 11 am at the First United Methodist Church of Colorado City with burial to follow in the Colorado City Cemetery. The family will be present for a visitation on Wednesday night July 12th from 6-8 pm at the Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
