He was born on June 11, 1961 in Dimmit, Texas to Vicente and Beatrice Soliz Garcia.
John was a man of great character, he was strong willed, reliable, and dependable, but could also be a bit stubborn at times. He believed strongly in his faith in God, the love of family, and working hard in order to provide for his family. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing, but as he got older his passions included working, fixing up older vehicles and riding on his Harley. John was a member of Saint Michaels the Arch Angel Catholic Church in Grand Prarie before moving to Colorado City and joining Saint Ann’s Catholic Church
John is survived by his wife Berta Arispe of Colorado City, by his sons Justin Garcia and wife Marissa, Edrick Garcia and wife Myra, and Aaron Garcia and wife Wanda all of Grand Prairie. He is also survived by his granddaughters Natalie, Jocelyn, Ava, Elianna, Miranda, and Hazel and by his grandsons Grayson and Easton also of Grand Prairie, by his brothers Visente Garcia of San Antonio and Edward Garcia of Midland, and by his sisters Adelaide Martinez of Midland, Gloria Murillo of Colorado City, and Katherine Moreno of Midland, as well as by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by a sister Fidelia Salazar and by a brother Benito Garcia.
A Mass of Christian Burial for John will be held on Saturday October 10th at 11 am at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Tony Franco officiating, the burial will follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery. The family will be present for a visitation at the Kiker Seale Funeral Home on Friday, October 9th from 6-8 pm with a rosary to be performed at 7 pm. Due to limited seating at the church those wishing may view a Facebook live stream on Kiker Seale Funeral Homes Facebook page.
