Mrs. Janie Lou Greenlee, age 69, of Colorado City, died Monday afternoon in a Lubbock hospital. Services will be at 10AM Friday at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Smith and Dr. Travis Munday officiating. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Greenlee was born June 14, 1944 in Borger, Texas to Ralph W and Docia Langston Plumlee and had been a resident of Colorado City since 1965. She married Don Greenlee on June 9, 1984 in San Angelo. She was a teacher for 29 years, member of the Retired Teachers Association holding state offices, an active member in Delta Kappa Gamma holding state offices, and a member and officer in the Colorado City Garden Club. Janie coordinated and executed the cookie ministry at Valley Fair Lodge and was involved in many other service missions. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and taught Sunday school there for the past sixteen years.
She is survived by her husband, Don Greenlee of Colorado City; a daughter, Leslie and husband, David Jones of Colorado City; a son, Mitchell and wife Misti Greenlee of San Angelo; 3 sisters: Beth Smith, Jackie and husband, Raymond Sessom and Debra and husband, Fritz Rosenthal, all of San Angelo; 2 brothers: David and wife, Leslie Plumlee of Soquel, CA and John Plumlee of Dallas; grandchildren: Chelsea Jones, Evan Jones, Jonathan Greenlee, Jeffrey Leary, Brian Leary and Kimry Leary; and great grandchildren: Devon Jones and Lily Jones; and many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Harris, Dale Geiger, Raymond Sessom, Fritz Rosenthal, Evan Jones, Russell McCarty, Kody Krieg and Tom Hamilton.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
