She was born on May 3, 1924 in Welder, Texas the daughter of Guadalupe and Rita Campos Luera.
Cruz was a woman who was all about family, spending her childhood helping her parents out with her younger siblings got her the experience to be a world class mother, a gift and a talent that she used her entire life after marrying her husband Ysidro on June 7, 1947. She was a faithful and loving wife to him for over 69 years and loved all of her children, grandchildren, Great grandchildren and her great grandchild with all of her heart. Cruz was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and belonged to the Guadalupana Society in Colorado City. Cruz was an avid gardener and had some of the most beautiful roses in the county. Aside from gardening she enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, and embroidery.
Cruz is survived by her 2 daughters Gloria Lujan and husband Nino of Colorado City and Nancy Holguin and husband Jimmy of Snyder, as well as by a son Eddie Lozano also of Snyder. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson, as well as a sister Francis Miller of Odessa.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ysidro (Cecil) Lozano and by her siblings Marry Barerra, Louisa Davilla, Gregoria Reyes, Santiago Luera, Jose Luera, Victor Luera, Lorenzo Luera, and Juan Luera.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Cruz will be held on Monday, January 18th at 10 am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Colorado City with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating, burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery. There will be visitations held for her on Saturday, January 16th and Sunday, January 17th from 6 to 8 pm at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home with Rosaries both days at 7pm.
