He was born in Stanton, Texas on March 21, 1952 to Marciano and Petra Pineda Madrid.
Ben was a good-hearted Christian man who held strong to his Catholic faith and loved his God and his family above all else. He worked hard all his life to provide the best life for his family, never leaving them wanting. He was the type of father who could fix anything, teaching his children as he went along. Even though he worked hard Ben always made time to be there for his family, making every sporting event and extra-curricular activity he could for his children and grandchildren. He was truly the best husband, father, papa, brother, and uncle a family could ask for. In his spare time he could be found outside with his many animals, working on his land, or making a good hot sauce for those he loved.
Ben is survived by his loving wife Terri Madrid of Buffalo Gap, his sons B.J. Madrid of Abilene and Thomas Madrid and wife Jen of Buffalo Gap, his daughters Michelle James of Colorado City and Michaela Madrid Halstead and husband Kolt of Buffalo Gap, a daughter-in-law Regina Darr of Buffalo Gap, and by grandchildren Kamryn Free, Branson Free, Halle Free, Jaylee James, Jaxon Walker, Jerzee Walker, Vincent Madrid, and Kennedy Halstead. He is also survived by his brothers Lupe Madrid of Snyder, Adon Madrid of Loraine, Elias Herrida and wife Maria of Midland, and his sisters Louisa Diaz and husband Marcelino of Midland, Maria Bustillos of Midland, and Emma Ramirez and husband Mario of San Jose, California, as well as by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marciano and Petra Madrid, by a son Brandon Free, a brother Pascual Madrid, and by a sister Delma Gonzalez.
