She was born on March 1, 1930 in Bolaños Jalisico, Mexico to Higinio and Dolores Serrano Perez.
Albina was a hard working woman who believed in putting God and family above all else. Albina was a woman who was very devoted to her church, she was a member of Saint Ann’s Catholic Church and a devoted member of the Guadalupanas. She spent over 60 years in the Colorado City area raising her family and working by her husband’s side in the fields where they farmed for many years. Her loving and nurturing way blessed her with a legacy of over 175 family members to cherish her memory and teachings. Albina was the type of woman that enjoyed everything in life. She was an avid cooker and eater, she enjoyed traveling with her family and going on cruises, but took pride in her green thumb, she especially loved roses. The love she shared and the legacy that she leaves in the lessons taught will be carried on in her family for years to come as the family grows, she was the true definition of the family matriarch.
Albina is survived by her children; Maria Auxilio Beltran of Colorado City, Mary Grace Lopez and husband RT of Colorado City, Joe R Gonzalez and wife Beatriz of Midland, Antonio Gonzalez and wife Ariselda of Sweetwater, Emilia Acevedo and husband Francisco of Sweetwater, Daniel Gonzalez and wife Chris of Arlington, Dolores Garza and boyfriend James Cleckler of Sweetwater, Pablo Gonzalez and girlfriend Jodeen Brown of Big Spring, Rosa Zermeño and husband Santos of Big Spring, Angie Gonzalez-Roland and husband Levie of Cedar Hill, Hilario Gonzalez and wife Phyllis of Lawton Oklahoma, and Theresa Rogers and husband Kevin of Fayetteville North Carolina. She is also survived by her son-in-law Ernesto Zermeño and by 54 grandchildren, 90 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Ezequiel Gonzalez, by 2 daughters Lorenza Gonzalez and Delia Zermeño, by her son-in-laws Manuel Beltran and Roy Garza, by grandchildren Juan Antonio Beltran and John Paul Gonzalez, and by great-grandchildren Adelina Beltran, Drake Dupree, and Santiago Muñoz.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Albina will be held on Saturday, September 8th at 10 am at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Colorado City with Father Michael Udegbunam and Father Serafin Avenido officiating, burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery.
The family will be present for a visitation on Friday, September 7th from 6-8 pm in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home with a rosary to be held at 7 pm.
