Gary(G Money $)Alan Weinstein 78, was born January 19th, 1945 to Joe and Bernice Weinstein in Rochester, NY. Sadly he passed away unexpectedly on May 23,2023. Gary grew up in Buffalo, NY, later graduating from Lafayette High School in 1963. He served 6 years in the Army Reserves, before finding his forever home in San Francisco. Gary was the first of his friends to get a tattoo, and an earring. His friends called him “fly”. His life consisted of working for a hip clothing shop Town Squire as well as North Beach Leather. He never gave up his love for fashion which was evident by his stylish clothes and assortment of glasses! Gary worked for MUNI, the San Francisco city bus company for nearly 30 years. He had two children, Shane Weinstein and Mia Raab with whom he raised with then wife Marsha.
He coached baseball, loved art, and museums.
He was an avid sports fan who loved the 49ers, Buffalo Bills, and Warriors. Most importantly, he was a lifelong, diehard NY Yankee fan.
Gary was loved by his entire neighborhood!!
He leaves behind his children Shane (Regina), Mia (Kevin) and three beautiful grandchildren Van, Ella, and Demi.
He also leaves behind his two sisters Caren Weinstein and Debby Damgaard.
There will be a public ceremony of his life on Saturday, October 7th, at 1 PM, Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1000 El Camino Real Colma, CA. to help us say “goodbye”.
