I met Kay at  Austin College.    Our relationship can be best summed up in a trip we took in 1969 .  Kay took me to the dock where I was supposed to get on a  boat headed for Europe.  It was discovered that I had neither money nor a raincoat.  Kay supplied me with both.  Over the years, Kay, Rich and I had many wonderful trips together.

My parents moved to Florida in 1977.   For the next thirty years, Kay and I would normally visit in late December or January, visiting, swimming and seeing the Florida sites.  After my parents died, we continued. A favorite location would be St. Pete's Beach, watching the sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico.  I will cherish the memories of shared drives, places visited and biking in varied locations.

Kay was the first caller I danced under when I fell in love with English Country Dancing in 2002. She was very clear and had a zesty enthusiasm to go along with her instructions. Kay was also a great dancer and had a real heart for new dancers who were struggling to learn the figures.
I remember talking with Kay in the kitchen of the Merion Friends Activity Center. I was impressed when I found out that Kay had taught English at several prestigious universities in the Philadelphia area. I said something like, "Wow! We sure have a lot of smart people dancing with us. Phd's, master's degrees, computer experts."  And Kay said something like, "Yes, and we have many great dancers who don't have credentials but are still extremely gifted and fun to dance with." And then I realized her wisdom in not being elitist, as I was tending to be, and focusing rather on the more important qualities a fellow-dancer might have.

Dear Rich and Janet,

I am so very sorry for your loss and thanks so much for sharing the obit for Kay with me.  It was mostly as young kids that Kay and Janet, and me and my sisters  had the opportunity to spend much time together and that was a very long time ago.  So really, with even just this little insight, I feel I now know my cousin better.

And except for her domestic talents and my lack of, maybe we weren't so different.  I love country music and dancing, reading - particularly murder mysteries/true crime and traveling the world.

At one time in my career with Southwestern Bell, Uncle G. P. and I worked in the same building on the same floor.  One day a co-worker asked why my picture was on Mr. Jones' desk.  Of course it was a picture of Kay and we had a good laugh over that.
