Peacefully surrounded by family on March 10, 2014; beloved husband of the late Sheila Ann Veit (nee Caimi); devoted father of William Scheerer (Jacob Tucker) of Collingswood, Sheila Marie Scheerer (Karen Sprague) of Wake Forest, NC and Susan (Mark) Heino of Laurel Springs; grandfather of Marisa & Sheila Ann; brother of Dot (Jim) Lawrence & Shirley Simone ( Chuck Reynolds).
A member of Collingswood High School Class of ’60, Mr. Veit was an optician for Duffy Brothers Opticians in Phila. over 25 years retiring in 2004. Joe worked as a driver for Commerce Bank for a couple years after that. Joe and his late wife loved their family, annual boat cruises and the ever faithful company of their dogs.
