Joseph Michael McMonagle, Jr. was born in Norristown, PA on January 12, 1947, to Joseph and Margaret McMonagle. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Margaret, and his first wife, Maria.
Joe worked for 37 years for the Burlington Township School District, initially as a history teacher, then as a Spanish teacher, and later as a middle school guidance counselor, which made him the longest-serving educator for Burlington Township School District.
If anyone was ever looking for Joe, he could always be found spending time with family, friends, walking “grand” dogs around Collingswood, or swimming at Roberts Pool. Joe was very dedicated to his church, St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Merchantville, where he volunteered his time to teach CCD and to count the collections each week. Joe was a faithful man who would do anything for anyone. He loved everyone and shared his love of Jesus throughout his life.
Joseph is survived by his children Joseph (Kristiann), Anne (Brandon), Mary, and James, along with his siblings Mary, Michael (Cecilia), Kathy Sobocinski (Vince) and John (Donna), his former wife, Connie McMonagle, as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. Joe had an impact on the lives he has touched and will be truly missed by everyone who loves him.
