James passed peacefully November 27, 2015. Beloved husband of Marie B. Schafer (nee Baker) for 67 yrs. James was a devoted father of James R. (Deborah) Schafer of Sewell, Richard H. Schafer of Newark, De., Jeanette Kolwicz of Palmyra and pre-deceased by son-in-law Michael Kolwicz. A dear brother predeceased by Mary Carney and Grace Cooper. A loving grandfather to Justin P. Schafer, Erin L. Schafer and James Kolwicz.

Family and friends are invited to the Memorial Service on Saturday December 5, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at BLAKE-DOYLE Funeral Home 226 W. Collings Ave., Collingswood, NJ 08108.

James was a career Navy man, an avid bowler and golfer. He had 7 holes in one. He loved sports, was a veracious reader and he loved spending time with the family.
