James passed peacefully December 8, 2017. Beloved husband of Annette DeFeo (nee Croce) for 49 years. Cherished son of predeceased Frederick & Vera DeFeo. Devoted father of Nicole DeFeo(Eric Campbell) and Stephanie DeFeo. Foster father of Denise Richmond(Len). Survived by sister Susan Celona(Anthony) and sister-in-law Cecelia DeFeo. James follows in death his beloved brother Frederick DeFeo. James is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Through his grandchildren, Ian, who was his heart; Jillian, who was his light and Nathan Freddie who was his precious soul, his memory will live on forever.
Jim was born in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating from Bartam High School(1962), he spent time at Temple University before going on to Boeing Helicopters, where he was gainfully employed for 32 years. Jimmy was a hard worker, running his own butcher shop(Jim’s Market, Collingswood) and co-owning Fred’s Cold-Cuts with his brother for nearly 16 years. In his prime, Jim was an avid golfer boasting a registered hole-in-one. His love for the casino was known far and wide. Jimmy loved his food and never missed an opportunity to sing along to a good doo-wop tune as he rode happily down the road in his 1967 GTO. If you sat with him long enough, you would be guaranteed to laugh. His big heart and kind nature made him many friends over the years. His last love, but most important love, were his grandchildren and his big Boo. He will truly be missed.
